JOB DESCRIPTION - OUTREACH SPECIALIST
TITLE: Research Clearinghouse Outreach Specialist
STATUS: Independent Contractor
REPORTS TO: Community Research Associate
POSITION SUMMARY
The Outreach Specialist will provide primary support to the Depression-Bipolar Consumer
Research Clearinghouse telephone information line and web site in order to engage individuals
living with mental illnesses in discussion regarding research participation and facilitate their
participation. The Outreach Specialist will also assist the Community Research Associate with
planning, implementing and evaluating education and outreach activities at Clearinghousesponsored
community events. This position is funded by a grant to the University of Michigan
Depression Center (UMDC) and administered in collaboration with the Depression and Bipolar
Support Alliance (DBSA).
