Nominate outstanding individuals and organizations that ensure our citizens living with mental illness receive the best care.

NAMI Michigan is dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness, specifically here in Michigan. We accomplish this through education, support, leadership and advocacy. A key component of our leadership is to recognize the contributions of the many dedicated professionals, organizations and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure our citizens living with mental illness receive the best care and achieve the best quality of life possible. Unfortunately, sometimes the efforts of these heroes seem to go unnoticed. We’re going to change this!

On Saturday, March 16, 2019 NAMI Michigan, Michigan’s voice on mental illness, will recognize Michigan’s Mental Health Heroes at the NAMI Michigan Honors Awards Dinner;

We are accepting nominations for people who demonstrate exemplary commitment to building better lives for Michigan residents living with a mental illness.The categories are:

  • Advocate
  • Clinical Professional
  • Direct Care Professional
  • Educator/Education System (College)
  • Educator/Education System (Secondary Education)
  • Faith Leader
  • Hospital/Managed Healthcare Organization
  • Law Enforcement Officer
  • Legislator
  • Media
  • Peer Support
  • Nurse
  • Physician/Psychiatrist
  • NAMI Affiliate of the Year
  • NAMI Volunteer of the Year


Nominating an individual or organization is your opportunity to recognize the great work being done in your communities to improve the lives of those living with mental illness. Attached is the nomination form, including category descriptions, entry deadlines, and the nomination submission process. Please note there are no restrictions on who can submit a nominee, so please share this opportunity with coworkers, family, consumers, businesses, etc.
