Elizabeth Santer

Elizabeth (Beth) Santer is an education professional with a 32-year career dedicated to enriching the lives of students and contributing to the field of education. She’s a proud graduate of Wayne State University for both her bachelor’s and master’s Degree and received her Administration degree with Director Approval from Grand Valley State University. She has a passion for ensuring inclusive and effective education (which includes mental health and wellbeing for all). She started her career as a speech therapist before transitioning into roles as a program specialist, teacher consultant, Special Education Supervisor, Assistant Principal and currently, the Executive Director of Special Services for Northville Public Schools. As an Executive Director of Special Services, her work includes a variety of Social Emotional Learning, mental health and wellbeing initiatives such as SEL curriculums pre-k-12, universal screeners, Risk Assessments and partnerships with community agencies. She is the co-founder of Northville CARES (Connecting to Advance Resources, Engagement and Support) with Amy Prevo (Director of Northville Youth Network) which partners community agencies and Northville Public Schools to assist with the mental health and wellbeing of Northville youth. Additionally, she has experience with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), English as a Second Language (ESL) programs, ACT 18 center programming, 504 plans and is one of the Title IX coordinators for the district. Beth was thrilled to represent NAMI on their state board and also serves on the following boards: New Hope Center for Grief Support, and Northville Youth Network (NYN). She was a past board member of Michigan Transition Services Association (MTSA) and has presented and/or co-presented on a variety of topics in her areas of expertise across the state and out of state conferences. She was a NAMI award recipient in 2022 and a Wayne County Parent Advisory Committee award recipient in 2018.
